A Brief History of Light for Living. Light for Living began as a writing ministry of Pastor Gary Click while pastoring the Calvary Baptist Church in Clinton, IN. His articles were published in the local newspaper, The Daily Clintonian. They were also distributed to email subscribers and several were posted on this website. Shortly after assuming the pastorate of the Fremont Baptist Temple, Fremont, OH, he was approached by Pastor James Lewis and chief operator, Brian Benedict about providing a two thirty-minute Radio Programs for the weekend. (WHVT 90.5 fm) At this point, Pastor Click's writing ministry transformed into a radio ministry. Due to time constrains, the weekly devotional gave way to the radio ministry. However, these devotionals are still available online through the Light for Living Archives. Pastor Click is still active in writing bible studies, dramas and devotional articles for other applications. We hope to make those resources available soon. Click here to learn more about becoming a Christian. Listen to the "Light for Living" broadcast live on whvtfm.com Saturdays and Sundays at 4:00 pm.

A Guaranteed Blessing A sneeze is often followed by what words? You’re right.
“God bless you.” Does it really seem fair that those with allergies would
receive a disproportionate amount of God’s blessing? Imagine how blessed they
must be when the pollen count is high. Obviously, God’s blessing involves more
than a little sneeze. When was the last time you have been a recipient of God’s
blessing? Was it today? Maybe yesterday? Last week or perhaps last year? Have
you ever been blessed by God? I have good news for you! God has given you a
guaranteed way to be blessed. There is no question about it. It is an absolute
guarantee of God’s blessing. Do you want it? Listen to what Jesus said. “Blessed
are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be
filled.” (Matthew 5:6) Do you hunger and
thirst after righteousness? I’m not talking about a casual interest in
spiritual matters. Are your hungry for the things of God? Is there a thirst down
deep in your soul for a deeper more meaningful relationship with Him? Listen to
David as he expressed his passion for God. “O
God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my
flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.”
(Psalm 63:1) David’s
deep desire and thirst for God won him as a great a blessing as
any man can claim. Listen to God’s description of him in Acts 13:22. “I
have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall
fulfil all my will.” I long for that kind of blessing. Oh, that God would
describe me as a man after his own heart! But how does it come? It begins with
hungering and thirsting after righteousness. The greatest obstacle to God’s blessing that the church
faces today begins with the individual Christian. The greatest challenge that
the Christian faces is commitment to the cause. The struggle today is the committed
Christian vs. the casual Christian.
Far too many Christians view their relationship with Christ and His church as a
“part” of their life rather than the “whole” of their life. Someone once said, “He is Lord of all or He is not Lord at all.” When we understand that the word “Lord” is also translated as “master” this makes perfect sense. If He is our Master, then every aspect of our life is subject to Him. A Christian will always be frustrated when God does not have complete control of his/her life. There is no such thing as a part-time Christian. He wants every bit of us. That comes when we “hunger and thirst after righteousness.” That’s when we receive the blessing of being filled with His power and His peace in our lives. That is when the joy of knowing Him knows no bounds. We give Him our all and receive His all. We can never loose in that proposition. This is the guaranteed blessing Jesus offers us. Do you have it? Take Him up on His promise today. You will never regret it. You are the
